Dwarf

Physical Description

Dwarves are powerful, squat and hardy creatures, nearly as broad as they are tall.  Dense muscle and even denser bones make them among the most resilient of the Seven races, but it also gives them quite a fear of water.  Dwarves have very strong and hard facial features almost always covered in a thick beard of red or brown. Their large eye's accustomed to the dark offer them vision in even the blackest of dungeons.

  • Height - 3'6"-4'0"

  • Weight - 140-225 lbs

  • Size - Normal

  • Skin Tone - Generally light skinned due to their time spent underground.

  • Hair - Rich and thick hair is generally worn long and for the most part unkempt.  Dwarves almost always wear a beard that matches their hair color, due to the lower temperatures of living in stone.

  • Eye Color - Darker shades of grey, green, and brown.

  • Lifespan - Dwarves can live upwards of 600 years.

Culture - Honorable and greedy, the powerful and squat dwarves flaunt a culture of trade.  Preferring to live beneath mountains the dwarves rarely run into squabbles over land and thus seldom war with the other races.  Almost all dwarves share a great sense of kinship with one another and as such fighting between dwarven kingdoms is also rare. This lack of "warring" has allowed the dwarves to focus on those things they love most, crafting and trade.  Dwarves are second only to elves in craftsmanship and not by much, and are second to none when it comes to trade. This combination of superior supply and an overwhelming demand by the kingdoms of other races has allowed most dwarven kingdoms to build staggering sums of wealth.  Their greed is the one thing that occasionally brings them into the wars of others. Many greedy and jealous leaders of other nations have tried to squander a dwarven kingdoms wealth, most have found that a dwarves lack of warring has not diminished their fierceness and intensity at defending their homes and have left bloodied and battered.  Yet a few powerful kingdoms have had varying degrees of success with campaigns against dwarven kingdoms.
